Trying to Stay Centered
This has been a nerve-racking experience for sure! Have you ever attempted hand-painting (pristine B&W line) prints with watercolors? One tiny drip or blob on the pure white border and it’s ruined. Yikes! I almost needed to hold my breath while painting these three prints and was constantly talking to myself to stay calm and centered on the task. I’ve 2 more to go for a variable edition of 5 and I sure do hope I can complete 5 without a mistake or a heart attack. If not, it will be a variable edition of 4 (or 3). I think I need a drink–it’s been all kinds of stressful for me today.
This is my starting point–the prints began as simply a one-color (black) laser-cut linocut on Rives BFK. (Printed at Santo Press by Brent Bond.)
And three (of five?) I’ve painted thus far.
